If you are taking cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune, or Sandimmune Rx), an immunosuppressant, to prevent steroid overdosage, then do not take the cyclosporine medication if you take an immunosuppressant, do not take the Celebrex medication if you take an anticoagulant to manage your blood warfarin (Coumadin) combined with warfarin to manage your risk of anticoagulant-related thrombocythemia (low-blood-sensitivity-to-Warfarin combined with CFX prothrombin level), or if you take any medications, they should not be taken with Celebrex. Continue taking the tablets as directed, and repeat the treatment course if you become pregnant, may become pregnant or are breast-feeding. Celebrex 200mg capsule contains the active ingredient Celecoxib. It belongs to the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and specifically a sub-group known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. This medicine works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.
Do not take Celebrex 200mg capsule if you are allergic to Celecoxib or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you had reactions to sulfonamide medicines, suffer from ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, or experienced adverse reactions to NSAID medications like aspirin. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor because it is recommended to not take this medicine if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disease, have inflammatory intestinal conditions, or have heart-related issues such as heart failure, heart disease, or circulation problems. Additionally, if you have had surgeries on leg arteries or have a history of blood circulation problems, this medicine usage should be avoided. This contains lactose. If you are sugar intolerant, consult your doctor before using this product. This medicine is for adults only, it is not for use in children.
Inform your doctor about if you have a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding (avoid if currently present), are on acetylsalicylic acid or antiplatelet therapies, use blood clotting or corticosteroid medications, or simultaneously use other non-acetylsalicylic NSAIDs like ibuprofen. Report your doctor if you have conditions such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, compromised heart, liver, or kidney function, fluid retention, dehydration, past severe allergic reactions to medications, ongoing infections, or are over 65 years old. Monitoring may be necessary. Notably, Celebrex 200mg capsule could mask fever or infection signs. Remember, alcohol combined with NSAIDs may increase gastrointestinal risks.

The study, published online in the, looked at the use of the generic versions of the drug in patients with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are commonly used for the treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.
The study found that the generic versions of the drug have a higher risk of causing gastrointestinal (GI) side effects compared with the brand name version. The researchers found that patients on ibuprofen, naproxen, and celecoxib had a lower risk of developing these side effects compared with patients on the brand name version.
“NSAIDs have been shown to be effective and are generally well-tolerated,” said lead researcher Dr. Michael Schondelmeyer, who was not involved in the study. “This study supports the use of NSAIDs in the treatment of arthritis. We are aware of the potential side effects of NSAIDs and will continue to monitor the safety profile of NSAIDs when prescribing these medications for this indication.”
The study was conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Arthritis and Muscle Pain (NIAC P. R. B. P. S. and NIMH P. S., the respective NDA), the U. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
The drugs are prescribed to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as arthritis, menstrual cramps, musculoskeletal injuries and rheumatoid arthritis.
The researchers looked at data from the clinical trials of nine different NSAIDs, including Celebrex, and determined that those on the brand name version are more likely to have GI adverse effects, especially when taken concomitantly with a lower dose of the generic NSAIDs. The most common adverse effect was gastrointestinal bleeding, with patients taking the brand name version more than twice as often as the generic.
The researchers found that patients taking the brand name versions of Celebrex were about three times more likely to have GI side effects compared with patients taking the generic versions.
“Our study confirms that, when used together, these generic NSAIDs can be used safely and effectively as an alternative to the brand name NSAIDs,” said Schondelmeyer.
“This study also demonstrates that there are other NSAIDs that can be safely used in combination with the generic NSAIDs, which are safer and have a lower risk of adverse reactions. These combinations can be used for other treatment regimens in addition to the branded NSAIDs, including for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,” Schondelmeyer continued.
“This study also shows that these combination therapies should be used cautiously, particularly in patients who have poor control of their pain and inflammation.”
The researchers hope that the findings of this study will lead to further investigation of the use of generic NSAIDs in patients with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.
“NSAIDs are known to be a safer and safer alternative to the brand name NSAIDs,” said Schondelmeyer.
The research was reported in February 2020 byThe New England Journal of Medicine, the journal of the American Medical Association. The study, co-funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Aging, examined the use of the generic versions of the drug Celebrex in patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.Celebrex- a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory drug- for adults 18 years and older
